दोहा। 

श्रीगुरु चरण् सरोजरज, निजमनमुकुर सुधार।  

Dust of Shree RAM Feet Dust will purify my mind & soul

बरणौ रघुबर बिमल यश, जो दायक फलचार।

Let us narrate the Glory of Raghuvir and be blessed with four fruits of Sprituality (Dharam), Prosperity (Arth), Pleasure (Kam), & Salvation (Moksh)

बुद्धिहीन तनु जानिके, सुमिरौं पवन कुमार

Let us prey to son of wind god Hanuman with humility & innocence. 

बल बुद्धिविद्या देहु मोहिं, हरहु कलेश विकार

O Hanuman please give me Strength, Wisdom, Knowledge & remove all my problem & weaknesses.

जय हनुमान ज्ञान गुण सागर

जै कपीस तिहुँलोक उजागर। १

O Hanuman victory to you. You are ocean of Wisdom & Virtues,

You are Lord of Monkeys & enlightener of all three World.

रामदूत अतुलित बलधामा

अंजनि-पुत्र पवन-सुत नामा। २

O Hanuman You are messenger of Shree Ram and possess immense Strength,

Your mother is Anjani & your father is the Wind God.

महाबीर बिक्रम बजरंगी 

कुमति निवार सुमति के संगी। ३

O Hanuman you are most brave, U are alway victorious & strong as thunderbolt,

O Hanuman you dispel evil thoughts and align everyone with good sense.

कंचन बरण बिराज सुबेशा ।

कानन कुंडल कुंचित केशा ॥४

You are alway dressed so neatly in a Golden Attire,

You wear golden ear-rings & have beautiful curly hair.

हाथ बज्र औ ध्वजा बिराजै ।

काँधे मूँज जनेऊ साजै ॥५

You hold thunderbolt weapon in one hand & Aum flag in other hand,

You wear sacred pledge thread across your shoulder

शंकर-सुवन केशरी-नन्दन ।

तेज प्रताप महा जग-वंदन ॥६

You are incarnation of Lord Shiva & son of mother Kesari,

You are adored for great strength and courage by all.

विद्यावान गुणी अति चातुर ।

राम काज करिबे को आतुर ॥७

You are learned, virtuous &  wise,

You are always eager to be of any service to Shree Rama.

प्रभु चरित्र सुनिबे को रसिया ।

रामलषण सीता मन बसिया ॥८

You delight in listening glories of Shree Ram,

You have thought of Rama, Lakshman & Sita in your Heart.

सूक्ष्म रूपधरि सियहिं दिखावा ।

विकट रूप धरि लंक जरावा ॥९

You appeared before Devi Sita assuming a minuscule form,

You burnt Lanka in awesome form

भीम रूप धरि असुर सँहारे ।

रामचन्द्र के काज सँवारे ॥१०

You assumed a gigantic form to destroyed Demons,

Thereby accomplishing task of Shree Ram.

लाय सजीवन लखन जियाये

श्री रघुबीर हरषि उर लाये। ११

You brought Sanjivini herb to revive Lakshman,

For this brave act Shree Ram embraced you overflowing with Joy.

रघुपति कीन्ही बहुत बडाई ।

तुम मम प्रिय भरतहिसम भाई ॥१२

Shree Ram praised you greatly,

and said: "You are as dear to me as my brother Bharat".

सहस बदन तुम्हरो यश गावैं ।

अस कहि श्रीपति कण्ठ लगावैं। १३

Thousands of living beings are chanting hymns of your glories"

Even Shree Ram said this embracing Hanuman lovingly.

सनकादिक ब्रह्मादि मुनीशा ।

नारद शारद सहित अहीशा ॥१४

You have virtue of Sanaka, Lord Brahma, Narada, Devi Saraswati, Seshnag and other sages and gods

यम कुबेर दिगपाल जहाँते

कवि कोविद कहि सकैं कहाँते। १५

Yam, Kuber, Digpal come to you for protection,

Your glories can't be fully described by any poets & scholars 

तुम उपकार सुग्रीवहिं कीन्हा ।

राम मिलाय राजपद दीन्हा ॥१६

You rendered a great Help to Sugriv.

You introduced him to Ram & got back his Kingdom

तुम्हरो मंत्र विभीषण माना ।

लंकेश्वर भये सब जग जाना ॥१७

Vibhisan followed your advice,

Whole world knows that he became the King of Lanka.

युग सहस्र योजन पर भानू ।

लील्यो ताहि मधुर फल जानू ॥१८

Sun which is at distance of 12000(1 Yug) x 1000(1 Sahstr) c 12.8 Km(1 Yojan) = 15.36 crore KM (Tulsi wrote this correctly in 15th century but European could calculate this only 200years later) 

You swallowed Sun mistaking it to be just a Sweet Fruit.

प्रभु मुद्रिका मेलि मुख माहीं ।

जलधि लाँधि गये अचरजनाहीं ॥१९

Carrying Lord Shree Ram ring in your mouth,

You crossed ocean but considering your valour there is even no Wonder in that.

दुर्गम काज जगत के जेते ।

सुगम अनुग्रह तुम्हरे तेते ॥२०

All the difficult tasks in this world,

Are rendered easy when we seek your blessings.

राम दुआरे तुम रखवारे ।

होत न आज्ञा बिन पैसारे ॥२१

You are the gate-keeper of Shree Ram's Kingdom,

No one can enter it without your permission.

सब सुख लहै तुम्हारी सरना ।

तुम रक्षक काहू को डरना ॥२२

Those who come in you protection enjoy all happiness,

When you are the protector, what is there to Fear?

आपन तेज सम्हारो आपै ।

तीनों लोक हाँकते काँपै ॥२३

You alone can control your dynamism,

When you roar entire sky, ground & underground tremble.

भूत पिशाच निकट नहिं आवै ।

महाबीर जब नाम सुनावै ॥२४

Ghosts and evil-spirits will not come near,

When one utters the name of Mahavir Hanuman.

नाशौ रोग हरै सब पीरा ।

जपत निरन्तर हनुमत बीरा ॥२५

You destroy all diseases and remove all pains,

Let us utters name of Hanuman regularly.

संकट से हनुमान छुडावै ।

मन क्रम बचन ध्यान जो लावै ॥२६

Hanuman frees us from all difficulties,

When we pray to Hanuman with mind, deed and words.

सब पर राम तपस्वी राजा ।

तिनके काज सकल तुम साजा ॥२७

Shree Ram is king who is full of devotion & penance.

You fulfill all works & desire of Shree Ram.

और मनोरथ जो कोइ लावै ।

सोइ अमित जीवन फल पावै ॥२८

All devotees who come to you  with any Desires,

All are blessed & get the highest fruit of Life

चारों युग परताप तुम्हारा ।

है परसिद्ध जगत उजियारा ॥२९

Your glory will prevails in all the four ages.

And your fame radiates throughout the World.

साधु संत के तुम रखवारे ।

असुर निकंदन राम दुलारे ॥३०

You are the saviour of the Saints and Sages.

You destroy the Demons and you are Beloved of Shree Ram.

अष्टसिद्धि नव निधि के दाता ।

अस बर दीन जानकी माता ॥३१

You can bless your devotees with Eight divine powers & Nine devotions.

Janaki Sita Mata blessed you with this power.

राम रसायन तुम्हरे पासा ।

सदा रहो रघुपति के दासा। ३२

You hold the essence of devotion to Shree Ram

You will always will remain as saviour of Raghupati Ram

तुम्हरे भजन रामको पावै

जन्म जन्म के दुख बिसरावै। ३३

Through devotion to you, we get blessing of Shree Ram

You free devotees from all sorrows of this life & future life.

अन्त काल रघुपति पुर जाई ।

जहाँ जन्म हरिभक्त कहाई ॥३४

When your devotee go to abode of God.

There they will receive same salvation as Devotees of Hari

और देवता चित्त न धरई ।

हनुमत सेइ सर्व सुख करई ॥३५

Even without worshipping any Other Deities,

One gets all happiness by worshiping Hanuman.

संकट हरै मिटै सब पीरा ।

जो सुमिरै हनुमत बल बीरा ॥३६

All difficulties & sorrows are removed,

For devotees who pray to the Powerful Hanuman.

जै जै जै हनुमान गोसाई ।

कृपा करहु गुरुदेव की नाई ॥३७

Victory, Victory, Victory to Hanuman,

Please shower your blessing on us as our Supreme Guru.

जोह शत बार पाठ कर जोई ।

छुटहि बन्दि महासुख होई ॥३८

All those reciting these forty  couplets minimum 100 times,

Will get relief from worldly bondage and will get great happiness.

जो यह पढै हनुमान चालीसा ।

होय सिद्धि साखी गौरीसा ॥३९

Those who recite the Hanuman forty couplets

Lord Shiv guarantees that he will be Divine & Perfect

तुलसीदास सदा हरि चेरा ।

कीजै नाथ हृदय महँ डेरा ॥५०

Tulsidas who is always the servant of GOD, 

He prays to Hanuman to keep him in his Heart.

दोहा

पवनतनय संकट हरन, मंगल मूरति रूप

Son of Wind please remove our all difficulties,

& your form is so auspicious. 

रामलषन सीता सहित,हृदय बसहु सुरभूप

O Hanuman with Ram,  Lakshman and Sita Mata please dwell in my heart.
